Andhra Pradesh is emerging in information technology. IT-ITeS industry in Andhra Pradesh has witnessed significant growth over the years. Major cities like Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Tirupati, Anantapuram have been identifiedas potential IT hubs because of cost advantage and other conducive factors like connectivity to other IT hubs such as Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai. Andhra Pradesh also has a high availability of talent, an enabling business environment due to supportive policies by the State Government and excellent infrastructure facilities which have attracted many large IT-BPO companies to the state.

Pharmaceuticals, textiles, agro and food processing, automobile components and minerals based industries are the main contributors to the economy of the state. The upcoming greenfield capital Amaravati as well as other major proposed projects such as Visakhapatnam Industrial Hub, Sricity (Tirupati-Nellore-Chennai), Hindupur, 3 industrial corridors [Visakhapatnam – Chennai (VCIC), Chennai – Bengaluru (CBIC), Bengaluru – Kurnool] and NIMZs in Pamuru, Anantapuram and a large PCPIR are expected to pave the way for a long term economic and industrial growth in the State.

AP was ranked 1nd and identified as an ‘Aspiring Leader’ for investor-friendly ease of doing business setup. The State government is continually updating its investor ecosystem to make it more user-friendly, robust and conducive to business. The 1st Sunrise AP Meet held in Visakhapatnam saw participation from over 1400 delegates (300 foreign from 41 countries) wherein 328 MoUs were signed for investments of INR 4.67 lakh crore1.
